Job Description:
The Aspire Training Team are seeking a motivated, reliable, and enthusiastic individual as an apprentice to complete their Level 2 Childcare qualification with KingsWood Day Nursery in Alderholt.
KingsWood Day Nursery is a small, privately owned nursery that offers outstanding care to children aged between birth and 8 years. It is based on the borders of Dorset and Hampshire and has been accredited with the prestigious "Outstanding" rating by Ofsted.
The cosy, converted old school building provides the children with a perfect environment to create wonderful childhood memories. KingsWood Day Nursery also offers a Forest School, providing magical and inspirational opportunities for children to achieve, develop confidence, and self-esteem through hands-on learning in a serene environment.
This role involves outdoor activities in all weather conditions. It is an exciting opportunity for someone looking to take their first steps towards a career in childcare, working alongside qualified and experienced professionals in a fantastic setting.
Your duties and responsibilities will include:
* Organising and engaging children in various activities and encouraging participation.
* Participating in forest walks.
* Preparing and serving meals, and assisting children during mealtimes.
* Supporting nursery staff with various duties throughout the day.
* Ensuring the nursery remains clean and tidy.
* Providing a safe and enriching environment for children.
* Keeping up to date with coursework.
Requirements:
* Ability to gain a clear DBS check and GCSEs A*-C in English Language and Maths, or equivalent (functional skills desirable but not essential).
* Flexible transport is required due to varying shift patterns; a car park is available on site for drivers. Car sharing is possible for those living nearby, but reliance on others for transport is discouraged due to shift variability.
Qualities required:
* Confidence, outgoing nature, and a love for outdoor activities.
* Good communication skills and teamwork abilities.
Hours:
* Minimum of 30 hours per week, with shift patterns to be discussed.
