Job Title: Specialist Teaching Assistant (Full-Time) Location: Primary School, Slough Employment Type: Full-Time, Term-Time Only Start Date: September 2025 Contract Type: Temporary (with potential for permanent placement) Salary: £85 - £110 per day (dependent on experience and qualifications) Agency: Teaching Personnel Job Description We are currently seeking a dedicated and experienced Specialist Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming and inclusive primary school in Slough. This is a full-time role, ideally suited to someone with a strong background in supporting children with special educational needs (SEN) or those requiring additional academic or emotional support. The successful candidate will work closely with class teachers, the SENCO, and other support staff to deliver high-quality support tailored to individual pupil needs. Key Responsibilities: Provide one-to-one and small group support to pupils with additional needs (e.g. Autism, ADHD, speech and language difficulties, SEMH). Support the class teacher in delivering the curriculum, adapting materials and activities as needed. Assist in the development and implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and behaviour support strategies. Monitor and record pupils' progress and provide feedback to teaching staff and parents. Help manage pupil behaviour in a positive and effective manner. Foster a nurturing and inclusive learning environment for all students. Support with personal care if required (dependent on pupil needs). Requirements: Experience working with children in a primary school setting (preferably with SEN experience). Relevant qualifications (e.g. CACHE Level 3, Level 2 Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent). A patient, caring and flexible approach to learning support. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. A valid enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply for one through the agency). Desirable: Team Teach or equivalent behaviour management training. Knowledge of PECS, Makaton or other communication systems. Previous experience working with EHCPs.
