Design & Process Engineer required for our client, a growing manufacturer specialising in automated wire bending, based in Peterborough. This role is ideal for a technically‑minded graduate or early‑career professional with experience or interest in CAD design, order processing, and production support. Working closely with a small team of other graduates, you will support the design and production process from concept through to shop‑floor implementation. This is an office‑based position with the opportunity to evolve into account management and process optimisation responsibilities.
Standard working hours are Monday to Friday, 08:00‑17:00.
Job Overview
* Create and modify 2D and 3D CAD models and technical drawings using AutoCAD and Fusion 360
* Interpret customer orders and prepare designs for manufacturing
* Support order processing and documentation for production
* Assist in developing shop‑floor processes and guidelines for wire bending operations
* Collaborate with colleagues and production teams to resolve technical issues
* Participate in continuous improvement projects for workflow and production efficiency
* Opportunity to support account management and customer communication as experience grows
* Use 3D printing for prototyping and testing of components when required
Job Requirements
* Degree or equivalent qualification in Mechanical Engineering, Product Design, Manufacturing, or similar
* Proficiency in CAD software – ideally AutoCAD and Fusion 360
* Familiarity with 3D printing technologies is a plus
* Strong attention to detail and problem‑solving skills
* Ability to interpret technical specifications and drawings
* Good communication and organisational skills
* A proactive and collaborative approach to working in a team‑based environment
Salary & Benefits
* Salary between £25,000 and £35,000 depending on experience
* Office‑based role, working Monday‑Friday, 08:00‑17:00
