Job Summary

We're looking for an organised and proactive Purchasing & Hire/Stock Controller to join our team. In this varied role, you'll manage supplier relationships, stock levels, and transport bookings, while also supporting with compliance and general office administration. If you enjoy a busy, hands-on role where every day is different, we'd love to hear from you.

Key Responsibilities

Purchasing & Supplier Management

* Source new suppliers and maintain existing relationships.
* Obtain quotes, prices, and confirm delivery dates.
* Raise and manage purchase orders, chasing suppliers for updates.

Hire & Stock Control

* Monitor and adjust stock levels, investigating discrepancies.
* Manage hire fleet stock, ensuring accurate records.
* Process manufactured goods into stock and ensure correct material usage.
* Produce monthly stock and hire fleet valuations.
* Process deliveries and returns

Transport Coordination

* Arrange deliveries and collections, raising transport purchase orders.
* Confirm delivery/collection details with suppliers, sites, and customers.
* File and track proofs of delivery.
* Deal with transport issues such as late deliveries, missed collections, or damages.

Job Preparation & Costing

* Request quotes and prepare cost sheets.
* Liaise with production teams for labour estimates.
* Provide completed costs and lead times to the sales team.

Compliance & Office Support

* Maintain Health & Safety documents, Risk Assessments, and supplier/asset logs.
* Arrange tool calibrations, inspections, and testing schedules.
* Assist with general office administration (phones, filing, scanning, IT basics, etc.).

Skills & Experience

* Experience in purchasing, stock control, or hire/asset management.
* Strong organisational skills and excellent attention to detail.
* Confident communicator with suppliers, customers, and colleagues.
* Able to prioritise and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
* Comfortable using IT systems

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: £25,000.00-£28,000.00 per year
