Job Title: Sommelier

As a Sommelier, I will support these pillars and ensure active participation in all brand initiatives.
I will support the Director of Wine and Restaurant Management and be responsible for the efficient operation of the following:
1. Stay updated on industry trends and practices to enhance our product and service offerings.
2. Continuously assess and review products and services to ensure relevance, innovation, and alignment with Six Senses' wellness and sustainability standards.
3. Provide exceptional guest service experiences.
4. Effectively manage service recovery in case of guest complaints.
5. Conduct Wine Seminars for guests.
6. Organize Wine Tastings and Dinners.
7. Lead Wine Training Sessions for Restaurant and Beverage staff.
8. Decant older vintages with proper showmanship and standards.
9. Pair wines with food, recommending options that complement various cuisines and preparations.
10. Assist in managing the outlet's operational budget to control costs and maximize profitability.
11. Inspect and maintain the condition and cleanliness of menus and wine lists, updating them as needed.
12. Adhere strictly to LQA standards and address guest feedback.
To qualify for this position, candidates must have:
1. A high school diploma or equivalent, with at least 3 years of experience in a similar role within luxury hotels. A hospitality diploma or degree is preferred.
2. Knowledge of Food and Beverage terminology, operations, wine service, menu development, hygiene standards, and inventory control.
3. Fluency in English; additional languages are a plus.
