Supplier Relationship Manager – IT
Hybrid working model – 3 days per week from home – located in Salford Quays, Manchester.
Permanent full‑time role with a starting salary of £60,000 per annum (dependent on experience). 37.5 hours per week. Benefits include a 10% Management Bonus Scheme and a generous pension.
Responsibilities
* Onboard suppliers after contract award and manage them against Bupa’s Supplier Management Framework.
* Build and maintain strong, high‑performance relationships with suppliers.
* Lead regular governance review meetings to assess supplier performance (SLA, cost, continuous improvement, quality of service).
* Ensure suppliers meet FCA compliance where applicable.
* Own and manage supplier risk profiles, mitigating supply‑chain risks to protect the business.
* Conduct due‑diligence and assurance reviews with suppliers.
* Resolve operational and service incidents, conduct root‑cause analysis, and implement process improvements.
* Drive category strategy, collaborating with suppliers and internal stakeholders to deliver innovation, efficiencies and value.
* Lead internal reviews with key stakeholders to identify business needs and translate them into relationship‑development plans.
* Develop and prioritise continuous‑improvement plans, instigate action plans to remedy poor supplier performance, and lead them to successful conclusion.
* Ensure smooth implementation of service‑improvement projects and handover to operational stakeholders.
* Conduct market scanning and benchmarking to monitor market direction and shape category strategy.
* Provide regular management‑information reports and updates to stakeholders at all organisational levels.
Qualifications and Key Skills
* Experience managing suppliers against FCA requirements (SYSC 8/13) and PRA handbook.
* Experience in supplier assurance or audit.
* Knowledge of outsourcing service‑provider management.
* Strong knowledge of supply‑chain processes and improvement tools.
* Professional procurement or risk‑management qualifications.
* Good understanding of risk‑management frameworks and compliance activities.
* Experience drafting contract terms and conditions, including schedules.
* Commercial awareness with a record of value‑based delivery.
* Analysis, problem‑solving and decision‑making skills.
* Effective communication at all organisational levels.
* Strong negotiation skills.
* Experience building and maintaining relationships at all levels.
