An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior Engineering Delivery Manager within Thales Optronics and Missile Electronics (OME). The successful candidate will initially serve as a Senior Engineering Manager in the Sea business, working on one of the largest development and production projects within OME, leading a large, multidisciplinary engineering team.
Responsibilities include:
1. Leading high-performing engineering teams to generate solutions meeting customer needs.
2. Developing strategies to ensure engineering delivery aligns with governance standards.
3. Collaborating with Programme Managers to define organizational and work breakdown structures.
4. Establishing project-specific processes, practices, and tools.
5. Defining work packages in terms of resources, budgets, risks, and timelines.
6. Planning and prioritizing activities to meet schedule, cost, and quality targets.
7. Managing daily engineering activities, issues, opportunities, and risks.
8. Reporting on engineering efficiency and identifying reuse opportunities.
9. Aligning solutions with the Product Roadmap.
10. Acting as People Manager for the engineering team and providing feedback to discipline leads.
The ideal candidate will have extensive engineering management experience on large programs, with a focus on multidisciplinary projects. Customer focus, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment are essential. Naval product knowledge is a plus.

This role will work closely with the Programme Manager and Project Design Authority, reporting to the Head of Engineering Delivery.
