Salary £36,363 - £46,142 Per Annum | Permanent, Full Time 37 Hours Per Week | North Lancashire, Central Lancashire & East Lancashire | Responsible for statutory assessments of children with disabilities, parent/carer assessments, review of care packages and direct payment reviews.

Lancashire County Council is seeking three dedicated and skilled Social Workers to join our vibrant Duty and Assessment Teams in East, North, and Central Lancashire. This is a fantastic opportunity to be part of a supportive and forward‑thinking service, where your expertise will help shape the lives of children and families across the county.


About The Role

This is a specialist role within the Duty and Assessment Team, responsible for completing statutory assessments of need for children with disabilities, parent/carer assessments, and reviewing care packages and direct payment reviews.

As a Social Worker in our Duty and Assessment Teams, you will:

* Undertake statutory needs assessments for children with disabilities.
* Complete parent/carer assessments.
* Review and monitor direct payment packages and care packages.
* Manage a varied caseload, ensuring the best outcomes for children and young people.
* Work collaboratively with families, carers, and partner agencies to provide the right support at the right time.
* Participate in the team’s duty rota and contribute to the development of social work students.

You will play a key role in safeguarding children, promoting their welfare, and ensuring their voices are heard throughout the assessment and planning process.


What We’re Looking For

* Qualified Social Worker (CQSW, DipSW, Degree in Social Work, or equivalent).
* Registered with Social Work England.
* At least 1 year of Children with Disabilities (CWD) experience and demonstrable expertise in completing CWD and parent/carer assessments.
* Strong assessment, communication, and partnership working skills.
* Commitment to equality, diversity, and continuous professional development.
* Ability to travel across Lancashire (essential car user post).
