Warehouse Main Tasks:
To operate the forklift truck safely to store, load and unload raw materials, finished goods and other items in the warehouse. To charge the forklift battery when required and to avoid it running completely out of charge.
To apply wrapping and strapping as appropriate to finished goods pallets for shipping purposes.
To perform the routine daily / weekly maintenance checks for the forklift truck and warehouse duties.
To perform and record the periodic cleaning of the warehouse area in line with cleaning specifications.
To clearly identify all goods stored in the warehouse, including components, packaging and finished goods.
To store goods in the warehouse in a safe and organised manner such that stock can be accessed and rotated in a FIFO system.
To ensure goods are palletised appropriately and protected from contamination from the surrounding environment and other products.
To report any quality issues observed with incoming or existing stock, or materials in the production area, and to report this to the Production Manager or Packing Supervisor
To report any health & safety issues observed in the warehouse or elsewhere.
To ensure that the warehouse area (and yard to the front of the building) is kept clean, tidy and well organised at all times.
To use the provided lists to identify incoming RSPO and FSC/PEFC materials for the Office Manager in line with Standard Operating Procedures.
Machine Operative Main Tasks:
To operate the Automatic Lapping machine in accordance with the agreed procedures. To set up the machine for new jobs at a product changeover.
To observe the quality of the material at all times to identify any contaminants or non- conforming material. To report any quality concerns observed to the Packing Supervisor or Production Manager before progressing further.
To be capable of basic problem solving on the machine, liaising with the Packing Supervisor and/or Production Manager when needed in relation to breakdowns and planned preventative maintenance as well as, where necessary, specialist engineering support services.
To perform the cleaning and basic maintenance tasks on the machine at the pre-determined time periods, including the filling in of the appropriate check sheets. Also, at all times keeping the work area clean, tidy and organised.
To train on the Manual lapping machine and Blue Streak cutting knife for convenient or emergency support for the Automatic lapping machine.
To use the information provided in the Material Preparation section of the Works Orders as well as adhering to the relevant Process Instructions to ensure that outputs from the lapping and cutting machines satisfy the requirements of the internal customers. The operator must also maintain good quality presentation and expected yield of the fabric during the process.
When time permits, to assist the packers by making up boxes and trays for them.
To be trained as a backup operator on the Automatic cutting press, providing cover during holidays and sickness.
To be trained to support in other functions of key equipment such as die changeovers on the Ident Converting press.
To assist with packing duties if required and time allows.
To always stick to the relevant Safe System of Work when operating equipment or machinery in order to maintain high standards of Health & Safety. To urgently notify the Packing Supervisor or Production Manager in the event of any actions or incidents which may give rise to Health & Safety risks or concerns.
