The successful candidate will be required to work within the Emergency Duty Team managing Children's, Adults and Mental Health work. This will involve shift work on a set rota pattern covering weekends, evenings, nights and Bank Holidays.
The environment is fast paced, where we are responsible for managing crisis situations, providing safety plans, interventions and managing risk.
The Cheshire East Emergency Duty Team aims to provide the best possible service for children, families and vulnerable adults across the borough. Working closely with partner agencies and our daytime colleagues, we aim to provide seamless, holistic support and intervention at evenings, nights, weekends and bank holidays.
As a Social Worker on the team, you will provide a high level of risk assessment in complex cases and carry cases to completion whenever possible.
You need to have the skills to support other staff and professionals to deal with complex issues and offer advice when appropriate. You should be confident, flexible and able to work on your own initiative. The work is fast paced, and you need to be able to make decisions with confidence.
You will be required to use a variety of IT databases to record your work. Training on relevant systems will be provided.
Please note that in order to apply for these posts you must be registered as a Social Worker with Social Work England, preferably be an Approved Mental Health Professional under the Mental Health Act, or be willing to undertake this training and have significant post-qualifying experience in a statutory setting.
