Job Description
As the Head of English at this fantastic Boys School in Kensington, you will be responsible for developing and implementing an exceptional English curriculum, managing and supporting a team of dedicated teachers, and fostering a love for language and literature among students. We are looking for a visionary leader who can inspire students and staff while promoting a positive and inclusive learning environment.
Responsibilities
* Provide strategic leadership and management for the English department
* Develop and implement a comprehensive and engaging English curriculum
* Oversee the professional development of teachers in the English department
* Monitor and assess student progress, providing feedback and implementing strategies for improvement
* Collaborate with other academic leaders to enhance cross-curricular initiatives
* Ensure the effective use of resources and technology within the department
* Maintain open communication with parents regarding students' academic performance
* Stay up-to-date with the latest developments in English education
Minimum Requirements
* Bachelor's degree in English or a related field
* Teaching certification and significant experience in teaching English
* Proven leadership experience, ideally as a Head of English or in a similar role
* Excellent knowledge and understanding of the English curriculum and assessment practices
* Strong leadership and management skills
* Ability to inspire and motivate students and staff
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
* Knowledge of current educational trends and best practices
* Passion for English education and dedication to academic excellence
