Utilities Project Manager - Leiston, IP16, UK
Sizewell C is a major infrastructure project contributing to Britain's energy future. Location: Sizewell C, Suffolk. The role is full-time onsite, five days a week. Candidates must successfully complete all security clearances and CTC checks. Contract: Permanent. Salary: £60,000 - £67,500 per annum, depending on experience, plus benefits. Benefits include a 5% CIP bonus, 28 days holiday plus bank holidays, a contributory pension scheme of up to 7.5% employee and 15% employer contributions, ongoing professional development, and other lifestyle benefits. The Role
The Utilities Project Manager will report directly to the Utilities Senior Manager and will be responsible for managing activities related to the full lifecycle of a Utilities contract or work package, ensuring adherence to safety, quality, schedule, and budget. The role involves providing management to ensure the effective delivery of utilities scope as part of the Civils Programme of SZC, managing impacts on the wider project.
The scope includes new connections, diversionary and protective measures, and maintenance of utilities such as Telecommunications, Potable Water, Foul Water, Natural Gas, Power, including Sub-stations across several SZC sites. Responsibilities include feasibility, design, procurement, construction, disconnections, safe abandonment of decommissioned utilities, and compliance with relevant regulations.
Key Responsibilities
* Leading and managing all utilities project activities within timelines and budgets.
* Defining work scope and delivering within it, adhering to regulations such as the New Roads and Streetworks Act.
* Collaborating with cross-functional teams to meet project milestones.
* Overseeing contractors and subcontractors, ensuring safety and compliance.
* Managing stakeholders and building effective relationships.
* Supporting the Utilities Manager in delivering the utility strategy for Sizewell C.
Qualifications and Skills
* Experience in utility services and project management operations.
* Knowledge of safe digging practices, BWIC, and CDM Regulations.
* Proven track record in similar environments.
* Excellent communication, decision-making, and stakeholder engagement skills.
* Proficiency in MS Office programs.
* Ability to work in fast-paced, changing environments and complete security clearances.
Desirable Skills
* Qualifications under the New Roads & Streetworks Act.
* Recognized Utilities Safety Card (EUSR).
* Water Hygiene Accreditation, SMSTS Certification.
* Experience with CAD or Microsoft Project.
