About the Team / Department
You will join a strategic public protection team specialising in safeguarding, covering various areas. The team is based at Kingsway, Bridgend and works closely with probation, prison services and other agencies.
About the Role and Key Responsibilities
Support proactive management of registered sexual and violent offenders in the South Wales Police area, ensuring effective risk assessment, safeguarding, and compliance with legislation.
Manage Integrated Offender Management (IOM) nominals, coordinating supervision of priority offenders to reduce re‑offending and risk to the public.
Collaborate with key agencies such as Probation Services and HM Prison Service to deliver a multi‑agency approach to offender management across custody and community settings.
Contribute to prevention, investigation, and detection of crime while protecting vulnerable individuals through partnership working and coordinated offender management.
Assist in developing best practice, support specialist operational teams and frontline staff, ensuring consistent, high‑quality offender management aligned with national guidance, local policy and legal frameworks.
Qualifications and Experience
* Experience in risk assessment, safeguarding and investigative work.
* Knowledge of risk assessment frameworks, safeguarding principles and relevant criminal and safeguarding legislation.
* Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to produce high‑quality reports, including statistical and evidential material.
* Willingness to undergo MV/SC vetting.
