In this role, you will be at the forefront of ensuring the safety and security of the site, supporting the client and their customers with professionalism and vigilance. The position demands a proactive approach to preventing potential threats before they escalate, managing access, and handling conflict when required, all while maintaining a welcoming environment. About the role: Position: Security Officer Location: London (W2) Pay Rate: £15.30 per hour Hours: Average 42 hours per week Shifts: 4 On 4 Off - Days & Nights Job Requirements: SIA Door Supervisor Licence required. Previous experience in security and customer service - ideally in estate, public space and 5* residential settings. Physically fit, capable of long periods of standing and walking, especially outdoors in all weather conditions. Strong conflict resolution skills with the ability to remain calm and in control during difficult situations. Excellent communication and customer service skills Good command of the English language IT proficient with experience in Microsoft Office, Genetec CCTV, and access control systems Reliable, confident, and committed to the role Flexible approach to duties, especially during events The ability to work both independently and as part of a team. First Aid qualification & CCTV Licence are a bonus Duties: Conduct regular external patrols, standing for extended periods, observing for any security threats or suspicious behaviour. Identify potential issues before they escalate and handle conflict professionally when it arises. Manage and prevent unauthorised access to restricted areas while maintaining a professional demeanour. Vigilantly monitor and respond to suspicious behaviour, loitering, or unattended items, and report back to the team and Head of Security Respond to fire alarms and emergencies with a calm and controlled approach. Conduct thorough checks of vulnerable points across the estate, ensuring exits are secure and no risks are present. Assist visitors and the public with local information or general inquiries. Act as an ambassador for the Estate, ensuring high standards of representation. Complete all handovers comprehensively to the incoming officer. This role demands resilience, particularly when carrying out outdoor responsibilities, together with a proactive mindset to identify and prevent security risks. It also calls for confidence in managing conflict and handling challenging situations with professionalism.
