We are currently seeking a dedicated PE Teacher to work in a secondary school in the Durham area. This is a rewarding opportunity to support pupils’ physical development, promote healthy lifestyles, and deliver engaging PE lessons to students of varying abilities.
You will work closely with the PE department and school leadership team to ensure continuity of learning while creating a positive and structured environment where every pupil feels encouraged to participate and succeed.
Working Hours
8:30am – 3:30pm, Monday to Friday
Pay – Negotiable dependant on experience
What We’re Looking For
1. Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
2. Experience teaching PE in a secondary school setting
3. Strong classroom and behaviour management skills
4. A passion for sport, fitness, and promoting healthy lifestyles
5. Ability to build positive relationships with pupils and staff
6. A proactive and professional attitude
7. Ability to provide two recent references
Key Responsibilities
8. Deliver engaging PE lessons across KS3 and KS4 (KS5 where required)
9. Support pupils of all abilities to participate and achieve in physical education
10. Promote teamwork, confidence, and positive behaviour through sport
11. Plan and deliver structured and engaging practical and theory lessons where required
12. Create a positive and inclusive learning environment
13. Work collaboratively with the PE department and wider school staff
14. Provide feedback on pupil progress where necessary
