We are currently seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to support pupils with additional needs at a specialist school setting in Rotherham.
About the School
This is a supportive and inclusive school that works with children and young people who require additional support to access education. The school caters for a range of needs, including Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, learning difficulties, and associated behavioural or communication challenges.
The school places a strong emphasis on building positive relationships, providing structured support, and helping pupils develop both academically and emotionally in a safe and nurturing environment.
The Role
As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will:
* Provide 1:1 and small group support tailored to individual pupil needs
* Assist pupils with learning, emotional regulation, and social development
* Support class teachers in delivering engaging and accessible lessons
* Help implement personalised education and behaviour support plans
* Promote a positive, calm, and inclusive learning environment
The Ideal Candidate
We are keen to hear from candidates who:
* Have experience working with children or young people with additional needs, either within an education setting or in a support worker / care role
* Are patient, resilient, and genuinely passionate about supporting SEN learners
* Can work effectively as part of a team and follow guidance from school staff
* Have a flexible approach and strong communication skills
