Immediate Start Available Murray Recruitment are recruiting a Financial Controller for our client based in Glasgow. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced finance professional to join a small, fast-paced business on a 3-month contract with the opportunity to go permanent. Role Overview: This is a hands-on role, reporting directly to the Director and taking full ownership of the finance function. The successful candidate will manage all day-to-day bookkeeping and payroll processes, alongside the preparation of monthly management accounts. Immediate availability is essential. Key Responsibilities: * Full responsibility for Sales Ledger and Purchase Ledger * Processing payroll for all staff * Managing all aspects of CIS including subcontractor payments and submissions * Preparing and submitting VAT returns * Producing accurate monthly management accounts * General bookkeeping and reconciliations * Liaising with external stakeholders including HMRC and auditors * Supporting the Director with financial planning and reporting Skills & Experience: * Proven experience in a similar, hands-on Financial Controller or Senior Bookkeeping role * Proficient in QuickBooks (essential) * Knowledge of SAGE and IRIS Payroll (advantageous) * Strong attention to detail and the ability to work independently * Excellent organisational and communication skills Offering: * Competitive salary (DOE) * Immediate start * Office-based role: Monday to Thursday 8:30am – 5:00pm, Friday 8:30am – 4:00pm * Free on-site parking * Pension scheme
