Job Title: Electrical Resident Engineer Location: Slough Contract Type: Contract (Outside IR35) Duration: 3 Months Start Date: 16th February 2026 Rate: £600-£700 per day Overview An experienced Electrical Resident Engineer is required for a short-term contract role on a major data centre fit-out project in Slough. This position is outside IR35 and offers competitive day rates. The successful candidate will play a key on-site role overseeing electrical installations, ensuring works are delivered in line with approved drawings and specifications, and resolving coordination issues as they arise. Key Responsibilities Act as the on-site Electrical Resident Engineer overseeing installation works. Monitor electrical installations to ensure compliance with design drawings and project specifications. Identify and resolve clashes and coordination issues, particularly where works are being installed against incorrect or outdated drawings. Liaise closely with contractors, project teams, and design consultants to ensure smooth delivery. Provide technical guidance and support during installation phases. Maintain quality control standards across electrical systems and infrastructure. Support commissioning activities where required. Project Environment This is a data centre project with significant electrical infrastructure, including: Extensive cable tray installations Bracketry systems Electrical containment and rack systems High-specification M&E coordination Strong prior experience within data centre environments is highly desirable due to the complexity and fast-paced nature of the project. Requirements Proven experience as an Electrical Resident Engineer, Electrical Project Engineer, or Electrical Commissioning Engineer. Strong background in data centre projects (essential). Demonstrable experience managing on-site installation quality and resolving coordination clashes. Excellent understanding of electrical building services systems. Ability to work proactively and take control of on-site processes. Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
