About the Role As a SRE, you’ll apply software engineering principles, automation, and incident response best practices to ensure the reliability, availability, and scalability of critical systems. This role requires Oracle expertise from day one, with a strong focus on OEM, OID, and performance tuning. You’ll be part of a growing SRE team, working closely with colleagues across multiple global locations, and contributing to the evolution of a modern, automated infrastructure. Key Responsibilities Ensure system availability, performance, and scalability through proactive monitoring and capacity planning Lead incident response and root cause analysis, implementing preventative solutions Develop automation tools and scripts to streamline operations and improve resilience Perform Oracle performance tuning and optimize system resources Collaborate with development and operations teams to embed reliability into the SDLC Stay current with industry trends and contribute to internal technical communities Essential Skills & Experience Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM) – Critical Oracle Internet Directory (OID) – Critical Oracle Database Performance Tuning – SME level Strong understanding of LDAP protocols and directory services SQL optimization expertise Proficiency in Python, Bash, or other scripting languages Experience with configuration management tools (e.g., Ansible, Puppet, Chef) Familiarity with monitoring tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana) Proven experience in DevOps or Site Reliability Engineering roles Desirable Skills Experience with cloud platforms (AWS preferred) Knowledge of Docker, Kubernetes, or other container/orchestration tools Strong problem-solving skills and ability to resolve production incidents Excellent communication and collaboration skills Team & Culture Based in Knutsford, with a hybrid working model (2 days in office) Join a collaborative team of 14 SREs globally, including 5 in the UK Work in a culture that values technical excellence, continuous improvement, and cross-functional collaboration Next Steps If you're a seasoned Oracle expert with a passion for automation and reliability, and you're ready to contribute to a high-impact transformation, we’d love to hear from you.
