The Opportunity
As a Lead Engineer, you’ll lead the engineering vision for one of our client’s flagship valuation and appraisal platforms — a cloud-native product underpinning thousands of daily transactions across the UK. This platform enables real-time decision-making, automation, and data integration at a scale few companies can match.
You’ll combine hands-on engineering with leadership: designing scalable systems, mentoring developers, and guiding technical strategy. Expect to work with the latest in .NET 8, Azure, React, SQL, and event-driven architectures — all within a culture where innovation and quality go hand in hand.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide technical leadership, setting the engineering direction and quality standards for your team.
* Collaborate with architects and product teams to define and deliver on the technical roadmap.
* Design and implement highly scalable, secure, and performant cloud-based systems using .NET and Azure.
* Promote best practices in CI/CD, automation, and testing across the engineering discipline.
* Support team members through mentoring and coaching, ensuring continuous improvement and skill growth.
* Foster collaboration across multidisciplinary teams to deliver exceptional, enterprise-grade products.
* Stay current with modern engineering trends and introduce innovations to enhance platform capabilities.
What You’ll Bring
* Demonstrable experience leading technical teams within an agile, product-focused environment.
* Strong expertise in .NET (Core/8), Azure, SQL, and event-driven architectures.
* Good working knowledge of React, JavaScript/TypeScript, and front-end engineering principles.
* Excellent understanding of CI/CD pipelines, preferably with GitHub Actions.
* Proven track record of designing secure, resilient, and scalable systems.
* A collaborative, delivery-focused mindset with strong communication and mentoring skills.
