* Competitive salary starting at £29,093 plus allowances
* Allowances:
o £1,455 (5%) secure unit allowance, payable monthly at start of employment
o £1,000 R&R allowance
o £3,014 enhanced pay rate for unsociable hours (based on 23 hours per fortnight), payable monthly in arrears
o £1,833 sleep-in allowance (average of two per month), payable monthly in arrears

The Role
This exciting opportunity is with Brook Street Social Care at a secure children’s home in Aycliffe, Durham. The centre provides specialist accommodation for young people aged 10-18 with complex needs requiring intensive support.
Please note: The role involves working across rotating shifts, including weekdays and weekends:
* Weekday shifts: 7:30 am - 2:45 pm and 2:15 pm - 11:00 pm
* Fortnightly weekend shifts: Saturdays 8:00 am - 1:15 pm and 1:15 pm - 11:00 pm; Sundays 8:00 am - 1:15 pm and 1:15 pm - 11:00 pm
Primary Responsibilities
* Act as a keyworker and role model for young people
* Engage, stimulate, and challenge appropriately
* Safeguard and provide stability
* Provide advocacy and act with sensitivity
* Administer medication as needed
* Maintain records and undertake risk assessments
* Write reports and care plans using IT skills
* Provide educational and physical activities
* Understand Children’s Homes Regulations 2015 standards
