Position

An opportunity has arisen for a Lead MRI Radiographer at University Hospital Ayr.

What you will do:

You will be expected to support both the service and its staff in continuing to maintain and develop the highest standards of imaging. You will be involved in departmental audit activities and excellent communication and team working skills are essential. In return, you will be offered a high standard of support towards their career pathway. It is essential you have a BSc (Hons) or equivalent in Diagnostic Radiography / Imaging Services with current registration with the HCPC, post graduate qualification or equivalent experience and a Certificate of competence in Intravenous Injections. Our department actively promotes a positive culture of CPD. An up-to-date Continuing Personal Development portfolio is required.

Knowledge, training and/or experience required to do the job:

You should either have a post graduate certificate in MRI or a wide range of MRI experience, ideally gained over several years. As lead radiographer within the specialty the post holder is required to have a high level of knowledge and decision making to provide guidance and technical expertise to support service users and departmental staff. You should have strong leadership qualities, organisational skills and the ability to share and develop ideas to enable the delivery of a high-quality service. Excellent communication and team working skills are crucial. You would be expected to be involved in the development of, and maintenance of staff rotas therefore experience in this would be advantageous.

Hours:

15 hours over Monday – Friday 9am-5pm. Set working days have yet to be agreed.
