Balfour Beatty has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join our Regional Civils team to work in Plymouth. A Senior Quantity Surveyor is an experienced QS who has a broad experience in the commercial management of civil engineering projects. The role will require an experienced, reliable member of the site team who will be able to carry out the necessary commercial duties to support construction operations, undertake client facing duties in a professional manner and to carry out the commercial reporting function back to the wider business. They will have experience of managing and mentoring a small team of less experienced commercial staff. What you'll be doing As a Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will have the following responsibilities: Commercial management of projects from post-tender through to the agreement of final accounts, including cost budgeting and monitoring, submission of applications and managing cash flow, and the production, analysis and presentation of CVRs and Scheme Forecasts, all to the required business and contractual timescales. Change Management including the drafting of contractual correspondence, administration and the subsequent valuation, agreement and Implementation of Compensation Events. Subcontract management and administration, from procurement through to completion, including the collation of subcontract scopes from design, drafting enquiries, production and agreement of subcontracts, remeasurement, payments and the subsequent agreement of subcontract final accounts, all with the aim of achieving Main Contract objectives. An accomplished working knowledge of the NEC4 suite of contracts. Generally, to provide valued commercial support, input and analysis on project and construction issues, contributing to the overall project strategy and decision making process.
