Responsibilities and duties of the Electrical Project Manager role
Reporting to the Construction Manager you will:
Reviewing technical designs and ensuring projects are ready to progress into construction stages
Managing electrical infrastructure works in line with industry regulations including DNO standards, technical specifications, and statutory requirements
Leading projects from post-design through installation, commissioning, and final handover
Creating and maintaining programmes of work, including weekly, monthly, and 3-month lookahead plans
Identifying risks, constraints, and critical project activities to keep delivery on track
Overseeing on-site safety, security, and compliance with HSEQ procedures, CPP, and F10 requirements
Supporting the wider HSEQ function with RAMS, audits, inspections and compliance documentation
Carrying out quality assurance across all stages, including pre-start checks, site inspections, and handover sign-offs
Preparing technical documentation, test certification, and reports for project completion
Leading technical meetings and representing the business with clients, internal teams, and network operators
Professional qualifications
We are looking for someone with the following:
An HNC (or higher) in Electrical or Civil Engineering, or equivalent industry experience
A minimum of 5 years' experience delivering construction or electrical infrastructure projects
Background working within NERS-accredited environments
Experience managing or installing electrical infrastructure up to 132kV
Strong technical understanding of HV/LV equipment including switchgear, transformers, generators, and substations
A thorough understanding of HSE and construction compliance
Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder engagement skills
The ability to manage multiple projects while working under pressure to deadlines
