About the Role
This hybrid position provides exposure to both pre‑contract and post‑contract phases, blending cost estimation, bid preparation, and financial management to ensure projects deliver value from inception through to completion. You'll play a pivotal part in driving the commercial success of each scheme.
Key Responsibilities
* Prepare detailed time, cost, material, and labour estimates from project documentation.
* Analyse tender documents and develop competitive bids.
* Identify and mitigate commercial risks.
* Undertake feasibility studies and cost planning.
* Monitor project progress, assess variations, and manage claims.
* Collaborate closely with project teams and clients to achieve cost‑effective delivery.
* Prepare interim valuations and final accounts.
Qualifications
* Minimum of 3 years' experience in estimating or quantity surveying within civil engineering.
* Degree-qualified in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, or a related discipline.
* Good understanding of NEC and JCT contract forms.
* Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and cost structures.
* Skilled in project budgeting and commercial control.
* Proficient with estimating software (desirable).
* Excellent numerical, analytical, and communication skills.
* Strong attention to detail and commercial awareness.
* Ability to work effectively both independently and within a team.
* Full, clean UK driving licence (regular site visits required).
Compensation
Competitive salary: £45,000 - £55,000.
