We are seeking an exceptional
Chief People Officer
, a strategic, forward‑thinking and commercially astute leader, to shape the culture, capability and workforce strategy that will carry PayPlan into its next chapter. This is an ideal role for someone ready to step into their first CPO role or continue growing in the early stages of a CPO career.
This is a career‑defining opportunity to influence at Board level, lead our people transformation end‑to‑end, and build a modern People function that enables high performance, deep engagement and sustainable growth.
As our Chief People Officer, you will be the architect and steward of our People strategy, ensuring that our culture, organisational design, talent, leadership, and colleague experience become an engine for business performance.
You will operate as a trusted advisor to the CEO and Executive Team, bringing strategic clarity, pace and rigour across all aspects of the people agenda, while retaining a grounded, hands‑on connection to operational delivery.
What You'll be doing:
Shape a Future‑Focused People & Culture Strategy
* Design and deliver a people strategy aligned to PayPlan's growth, transformation and investment ambitions
* Champion a culture that is values‑driven, high trust and high performance
* Build colleague experience, engagement, wellbeing and capability at scale
Partner at Board Level
* Provide strategic counsel on workforce, talent and culture
* Ensure people priorities accelerate commercial outcomes
* Bring clarity and momentum to transformational change across the organisation
Build a Modern People Function
* Lead, develop and elevate our People teams as a proactive, insight‑driven function
* Balance strategic influence with operational excellence and delivery discipline
* Embed consistent, scalable people practices
Drive Organisation & Leadership Transformation
* Shape the workforce of the future through organisation design, leadership development and capability build
* Strengthen leadership effectiveness and succession depth across the business
* Model and embed the behaviours and standards that enable colleagues to thrive
About You
* A seasoned People leader with a proven track record of driving impact across complex, high‑growth, transformational and private‑equity‑backed environments, now ready to step into a first CPO role or continue growing in the early stages of a CPO career
* Experience in a FS or FCA regulated business is desirable
* You would be energised by transformation and capable of bringing structure, pace and clarity
* A commercially minded, emotionally intelligent leader who builds trust and influence quickly
* A champion of culture who understands that people are a strategic asset - not a cost
* A confident advisor to senior executives and a visible, authentic leader to colleagues
* Experienced in multi‑site people leadership (desirable)
