POSITION SUMMARY:
The Housekeeping Director is responsible for the entire guest onboard experience related to cleanliness and stateroom service, ensuring a seamless delivery of premium, memorable service. The role requires outstanding hospitality, communication, and organizational skills, along with effective decision-making abilities. Attention to detail is crucial, as the Director is fully accountable for the quality of all guests' experiences, including maintenance and cleanliness of assigned areas and leading the team.
HIRING QUALIFICATIONS:
* Five to seven years of housekeeping managerial experience in upscale hotels, resorts, or cruise lines (shipboard experience preferred).
* Bachelor’s degree in hospitality management, business administration, or a related field from an accredited institution or equivalent.
* Extensive knowledge of cleaning procedures, public health standards, and safety protocols, including chemical handling and equipment use.
* Understanding of personalized service principles, guest satisfaction evaluation, and quality standards.
* Ability to work positively in a diverse team environment and meet deadlines.
* Strong communication skills for resolving issues and negotiating with department heads, coworkers, and crew.
* Aptitude for financial management, including cost control and expense reduction.
* Experience in managing staffing levels to support vessel operations.
* Knowledge of talent assessment, leadership, and coaching skills.
* Understanding of HR policies and practices.
* Proficiency with computers and software such as Excel, Word, and relevant company programs.
LANGUAGE REQUIREMENTS:
* Clear, cordial English communication skills, both spoken and written.
* Proficiency in additional languages such as Spanish, French, or German is preferred.
