University Hospital Southampton NHS Foundation Trust is pleased to offer a substantive Consultant Clinical Oncologist position specialising in Skin and Breast cancers. This is a full-time post (10.25 PAs) with less-than-full-time options available.
Main duties of the job
You will work alongside the established skin and breast cancer Clinical Oncology consultant and multidisciplinary teams to provide radiotherapy with or without Systemic Anti-C Cancer Therapy (SACT) services as part of a busy department. The cancer centre provides comprehensive services to a large local and regional population, with seven linear accelerators and imaging-guided radiotherapy implemented across all treatment units, including SABR and SRS.

Job responsibilities
This post is clinically responsible for the care of patients with skin and breast cancer within UHS and the wider region. It may include joining the oligometastatic SABR service. Duties include:
* Attending the weekly UHS Skin and Breast MDT and clinics
* Planning and supervising radiotherapy for Skin and Breast cancer patients
* Planning and supervising Systemic Anti Cancer Therapy for Skin +/- Breast cancer patients
* Engaging in Radiotherapy peer review meetings
* Teaching and training specialist trainees in Clinical Oncology and the wider multidisciplinary team
* Engaging in the management of, recruitment into and running of clinical trials
* Participating in an on-call rota for out-of-hours Clinical Oncology cover, providing evening advice and undertaking weekend and Bank Holiday ward rounds (1:20)

Qualifications, Training & Experience
Essential
* MBBS or equivalent medical qualification
* GMC registration with a licence to practise
* Broad experience in Clinical Oncology
* Experience in the management of breast and/or skin malignancies
Desirable
* Recognised training in academic oncology with postgraduate qualification
* SABR experience
* Significant experience in Oncology research
* Experience of working within the NHS
* CCT in Clinical Oncology (including up to 6 months before CCT) or equivalent qualifications/experience for Specialist Register
