Are you passionate about musical theatre and shaping confident, ensemble-ready performers?

We're looking for a skilled Musical Director to lead on ensemble singing and vocal performance within our Musical Theatre programme. Bring your creative flair and professional insight to inspire and challenge aspiring performers. You'll direct group vocals, develop musicality, and collaborate closely on public performances and productions. Experience in vocal coaching, musical arrangement, and theatre repertoire is essential. Be part of a vibrant, supportive team dedicated to artistic excellence. Help students find their voice on stage and beyond.

We have an exciting opportunity at our City Campus to join our The Arden School Theatre Department as a Musical Theatre - Ensemble & Music Director on a permanent, part time (21 hours per week) basis.

We welcome applications from aspiring teachers who are passionate about sharing their industry skills. At The Manchester College, you will be supported by our Teaching Academy to work towards qualified teacher status for post 16 compulsory education, through a Cert Ed/PGCE. This includes 3-4 hours delivery per week and engagement with a mentor to support your progress in the profession while you work. The starting salary for an unqualified teacher is between £28,300.00 - £30,307.50*. It's a great way to kick-start a rewarding career with full training and support. Once you've successfully qualified and demonstrated your teaching competence, you'll progress to the qualified teacher salary banding.

*Consideration will be given to relevant industry experience and skills with the flexibility to offer increased starting salaries in some circumstances*.

Levelling Up Payment

Skills, Qualifications and Experience

To be successful in this role, you will need to:

Current and valid industry specialism.
Certificate of education or PGCE.
Minimum Level 3 occupational qualification.
English and maths minimum level 2 Grace C or grade 4 and above.
Significant Experience of delivering outstanding teaching and learning.
Proven track record of high-quality teaching in delivering subject specialism or current valid industry specialism.
Working as a team.
Verbal and written communication skills.
Meet delivery targets and plans.
Accurate and timely reports and records.
Positive contribution to planning processes.
Proven track record of positive student satisfactionSafeguarding
