Join to apply for the Civils Site Supervisor role at Lanes Group. We are supporting Yorkshire Water in maintaining their Wastewater Network for the next five years and beyond. We are recruiting Site Supervisors to deliver exceptional customer service and innovative operational solutions across Yorkshire, contributing to AMP8 objectives.
About the Role
As a Site Supervisor, you will lead operational teams within a defined catchment, ensuring end-to-end management of works while delivering an exceptional customer journey. You will ensure your team performs its responsibilities, carry out site inspections, coordinate crews from your depot, manage fleet issues, and evaluate employee performance.
Responsibilities
* Work with the Senior Management Team, Client and Local Authority to agree extent of works and maintain relationships throughout.
* Maintain positive relationships with clients, addressing concerns or requests promptly and professionally.
* Encourage and enable personal development.
* Collaborate with planning and scheduling teams to ensure effective resource allocation, job prioritisation, and workforce coordination.
* Ensure all work complies with standards, policies and procedures of Lanes Group and its customers.
* Lead and control Civils Operatives and Gangers engaged in civil works; optimise resources with scheduling team.
* Manage teams’ fleet/plant and material requirements for efficient and timely completion.
* Produce method statements and procedures; read and interpret drawings and engineering documentation; keep records; ensure client systems update in real time.
* Command respect of workforce and develop strong relationships with other departments and client management.
* Communicate confidently with internal and external clients; issue instructions effectively; manage daily team activities.
* Read and interpret drawings, including excavation dimensions, pipe and rebar angles, concrete mixtures, and shoring designs.
* Ensure crews are supplied with tools, equipment and materials; prevent wastage; supervise to optimise manpower and materials; enforce safety at worksites.
* Familiar with HS&E and quality procedures; enforce them with the workforce.
* Identify and implement training programs for the workforce.
* Maintain the highest level of safety to avoid incidents and accidents.
About You
* Possess prior supervision experience within the Waste Water Industry.
* Hold a full UK driving licence.
* Management experience is essential; you will be key to getting the best from employees.
* Excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks.
* Exceptional customer service skills.
* Excellent time management skills and ability to deliver tasks to deadlines.
* Strong leadership qualities to motivate and guide teams towards targets.
* Proactive problem-solving approach with a focus on delivering results.
* Proven experience in a Supervisor role within Utilities, preferably Drainage.
Working Hours & Location
* Shift pattern: Monday to Friday, 47.5 hours per week
* Salary: £38,000 - £42,000
* Location: Malton, Aldwarke, Bradford and surrounding regional areas
* Company Car / Car allowance
* 25 days holiday + Bank holidays
