Are you an experienced plant operator who can efficiently run and manage a busy recycling yard, has experience of operating at least two different types of plant and has knowledge of the recycling industry?

Overview of the role:
As a Senior Plant Operative you will be responsible for the efficient running of the yard. This includes assisting the supervisors with all health, safety, environmental and insurance requirements. You will also be responsible for the loading and unloading of various wagons with a variety of materials across site, maintaining a high level of housekeeping, monitoring and taking remedial action regarding bale stacking, and organising pallet storage within the yard and warehouse.
Hours:
Monday – Friday (50 hrs week).
Salary: £14.77 per hour
What we'll need from you:
You must
* hold a current licence/have experience in using a Forklift truck and ideally either a telehandler, loading shovel or 360.
* have extensive experience of unloading containers.
* ideally have Team Leader experience
* have awareness and understanding of Health & safety procedures on an industrial site.
* Ideally have experience working in the recycling industry.

What you'll be doing as a Senior Plant Operative
The main tasks of this role include, but are not limited to:
* Ensuring the efficient running of the main yard and warehouse
* Attending and contributing to the weekly senior Op meetings
* Loading and unloading containers and curtain siders using a Fork Lift Truck
* Managing the yard team
* Finding workable solutions to problems as they arise
* Completing daily checks and ensuring machinery, plant and equipment are in good safe working order and completing daily plant books
* Removing non-conforming materials from material bought to site
* Conducting regular checks on work areas, reporting any problems
* Rotating stock around the site and ensuring good site housekeeping
* Ensuring Health & safety and environmental polices and procedures are adhered to
* Closely liaising with the Weighbridge office to understand daily inbound/outbound material and stock levels
* Ensuring all stock is within insurance requirements
* Any other reasonable tasks as directed by the manager
