This ongoing locum role offers a competitive hourly rate of £31.97 and flexible working options including part-time or full-time hours. Working as part of Birmingham's Adult Social Care service, you will support adults with physical disabilities, frailty, and long-term conditions, helping them maintain independence and safety within their homes. You will work alongside a multidisciplinary team to deliver high-quality occupational therapy interventions that promote wellbeing and independence across the community. Supportive Team Environment: Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team including social workers, physiotherapists, and housing professionals. What You Will Do Undertake comprehensive occupational therapy assessments for adults within the community. Assess functional ability, mobility, and environmental risks within service users' homes. Recommend minor and major adaptations, specialist equipment, and assistive technology to support independence. Develop and implement rehabilitation and independence-focused intervention plans. Work collaboratively with social workers, physiotherapists, housing teams, and other health professionals. Provide guidance on manual handling, moving and handling plans, and risk assessments. Support hospital discharge pathways and help prevent unnecessary hospital admissions. Maintain accurate case records and documentation in line with council policies and procedures. Ensure compliance with statutory duties under the Care Act 2014 and safeguarding frameworks. Requirements Degree or Diploma in Occupational Therapy. Registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC). Experience within Adult Social Care or community occupational therapy services. Strong assessment, problem-solving, and communication skills. Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team environment. Why Work in Birmingham?
