About us | He kupu mō mātou
Our Clandeboye site is Fonterra’s largest manufacturing site, with 11 plants processing, at peak up to 13 million litres of milk per day through some of the biggest dryers in the world. We employee over 1,200 people across the value stream all bringing a diverse range of skills, expertise and thought to our operation.
About the Opportunity | Mō tēnei tūranga
We have an exciting opportunity for a proactive and detail-oriented Purchasing Specialist to join our team. In this role, you will support the optimisation of purchasing and inventory processes, working closely with vendors and procurement teams to ensure accurate pricing, reliable supply, and efficient operations.
You will play a key role in maintaining data integrity, supporting supplier performance, and ensuring procurement best practices are consistently delivered.
Core responsibilities include:
* Build and maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders and external suppliers
* Process and manage purchasing activities, including raising and approving purchase orders and maintaining accurate system data
* Monitor and manage open purchase orders, invoice discrepancies, blocked invoices, and delivery timelines
* Work collaboratively with procurement teams to ensure correct contract rates, terms, and master data are applied
* Ensure compliance with procurement policies, systems, and contractual obligations
* Support inventory and stores operations, including receipting goods, coordinating stock movements, and assisting with inwards/outwards logistics
* Identify opportunities to improve purchasing efficiency and inventory optimisation
About You | Mōu
You are an organised and proactive purchasing professional with a strong eye for detail and a commitment to accuracy and compliance. You enjoy working in a fast-paced environment and building strong relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.
We’d love to hear from you if you have:
* Proven experience in purchasing, procurement, or inventory management
* Strong understanding of procurement processes and systems (e.g. SAP, ECC, ARIBA or similar)
* Excellent prioritisation and time management skills, with the ability to manage competing demands
* High attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining data accuracy and compliance standards
* A proactive approach to identifying and resolving issues before they impact operations
* Strong communication and stakeholder relationship skills
* Confidence working across multiple systems, with strong general computer proficiency
