Overview
The staff are involved in all aspects of the breast care pathway, providing standard mammography, additional views, stereo biopsy, tomography and contrast‑enhanced mammography.
Responsibilities
* Perform standard mammography, additional views and stereo biopsy at County Hospital and across the North Midlands screening area via mobile demountable units and a new mobile van.
* Provide standard mammography, tomography, and additional views in the busy 2‑week wait/one‑stop clinics at Royal Stoke and County Hospitals.
* Chaperone ultrasound procedures and support biopsy work.
* Operate contrast‑enhanced mammography and train in cannulation to gain experience with this new technique.
* Participate in screening assessment clinics at both Hospital sites; some staff will train further in clinical breast examination and advanced communication skills.
Qualifications
* Demonstrable experience as a qualified Radiographer is essential.
* Training is paid at band 5; other band 6 candidates may be considered for the right profile of experience.
* Due to the nature of the role it is a Genuine Occupational Requirement under the Equality Act 10, only females may apply.
