Role: Electrician Street Lighting
Location: EH11 4HD
Hours: Monday to Friday (36 hours per week)
Pay Rate: £18.34 – £21.56 per hour
Duration: Temporary ongoing. Opportunities for permanent positions
Start Date: ASAP
This role requires at least a Category B drivers’ licence – C1 desirable
You must be an Approved Electrician
You must be able to attend a depot in Sighthill Edinburgh
The Approved Electrician will:
* Inspecting, maintaining and repairing street lighting installations and equipment
o Fault finding, testing, installation and commissioning to industry standards
o Working at height using Mobile Elevated Working Platforms
o Planning and prioritising workloads, identifying failures and taking preventative action
o Ensuring full compliance with health and safety legislation and wiring regulations
o Using mobile IT devices for job management and reporting
o Communicating technical information clearly and professionally
o Delivering a customer-focused service
This role involves outdoor work in all weather conditions and regular travel across the city.
What We’re Looking For
We are seeking a motivated, safety-conscious professional who takes pride in delivering high-quality technical work.
Essential:
* 18th Edition Gold CSCS Card
o City & Guilds, SVQ Level 3 or equivalent qualification
o Experience using mobile IT devices for works management
o Strong communication skills and the ability to explain technical information clearly
o Experience working in an organisation of similar scope and complexity
o Knowledge of CDM Regulations
o Ability to plan workloads and take proactive preventative action
o Ability to deliver customer-focused services
Desirable:
* IPAF certification
o 7.5 tonne licence (C1)
o Experience delivering large-scale public maintenance services
o Evidence of continuing professional development
