What will you be responsible for?
As a Highways Maintenance Operative, you'll work within the IRV team, supporting incident response, including attending, making safe, and repairing category 1 defects, and assisting with highways emergencies as directed. You will also help in the delivery of category 2 defects.
Your day-to-day will include:
* Undertaking works to a high technical standard, conducting full repairs of defects or high-quality temporary repairs when necessary, aligning with operating practices.
* Attending briefings, allocating and recording time and resources used, in line with systems.
* Operating vehicles and plant machinery, performing daily checks, routine maintenance, and submitting defect reports.
* Record keeping, completing paperwork, liaising with employees, subcontractors, emergency services, the public, clients, and customers.
* Communicating with the OCR, delivering attend-and-make-safe requirements, recording times and actions.
What are we looking for?
This role is suitable if you have:
* A full driving licence.
* CSCS – Skilled Worker or higher, with relevant qualifications in traffic management, incident response, winter maintenance, and highway operations.
* Good knowledge of health and safety, especially related to highways operations.
