Job Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Healthcare Assistant to join our team. In this role, you will provide essential support to patients in care homes or through home care services, ensuring their comfort and well-being. You will work closely with healthcare professionals to implement care plans and assist with daily living activities. Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team are essential for success in this position.
Responsibilities
* Assist patients with daily living activities, including personal hygiene, dressing, and mobility.
* Support the implementation of individual care plans tailored to each patient's needs.
* Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare professionals to ensure high-quality care.
* Maintain accurate records of patient progress and report any changes in condition to the supervising nurse or healthcare professional.
* Help with administrative tasks related to patient care, including updating IT systems as required.
* Escort patients to appointments or activities as needed, ensuring their safety and comfort during transport.
* Participate in training sessions and continuous professional development to enhance your skills and knowledge.
Qualifications
* Previous experience in a care home or home care setting is preferred but not essential.
* Strong communication skills in English, both verbal and written.
* Basic IT skills for maintaining records and using healthcare software.
* Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment while also being able to work independently when required.
* A caring attitude towards patients, demonstrating empathy and respect for their dignity.
