Estimator - Civil Engineering and Building

Salary - £55,000 to £80,000 DOE

Location - Cheshire
Estimator role offering long-term security, varied projects and a supportive in-house commercial team within a well-established civil engineering and building contractor.
Up Front Recruitment is recruiting an Estimator to join a long-standing contractor delivering industrial, commercial and residential projects across the North West and wider UK.
This is an office-based Estimator position in Cheshire, suited to someone who enjoys producing accurate, competitive tenders and working closely with delivery teams on technically diverse projects.
The Role
*
Preparing estimates for civil engineering and building projects
*
Reviewing drawings, specifications and tender documentation
*
Producing take-offs and detailed cost plans
*
Liaising with suppliers and subcontractors for pricing
*
Evaluating subcontractor quotations and value engineering options
*
Attending pre-tender and internal review meetings
*
Working closely with project and commercial teams
*
Supporting bid submissions and tender clarifications
*
Maintaining accurate estimating records and databases
Ideal Estimator Background
*
Experience as an Estimator within civil engineering or building
*
Comfortable pricing concrete, drainage, infrastructure and building works
*
Strong attention to detail and commercial awareness
*
Confident communicator with good organisational skills
*
Proficient with Microsoft Office and estimating software
*
Relevant construction or commercial qualification preferred
