Level 2 SEN Teaching Assistant – Atherton (M46)

Contract Type: Part-Time, Temporary (with high potential for permanent position)
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am – 1:00pm
Salary: £13.75 - £15 per hour (dependent on experience and qualifications)
Are you a compassionate and dedicated Level 2 Teaching Assistant looking for a rewarding role where you can make a real difference? We are seeking a caring and patient individual to support a pupil with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) in a friendly and inclusive primary school in Atherton (M46).
This position is ideal for someone who is passionate about supporting children with additional needs, enjoys building positive relationships, and can provide calm and consistent guidance throughout the school day.
The Role:
* Providing 1:1 support for a pupil with ASD, focusing on emotional regulation, social interaction, and engagement in learning activities.
* Supporting the pupil during social situations such as playtimes, lunchtimes and group activities.
* Working closely with the class teacher and SENDCo to implement strategies and personalised support plans.
* Encouraging independence and promoting positive behaviour through clear routines and gentle guidance.
* Assisting with classroom tasks and preparing resources to support learning.
Requirements:
* A Level 2 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent).
* Previous experience supporting children with SEND, particularly ASD, is highly desirable.
* An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply).
* A caring, patient, and empathetic approach to supporting children.
* Good communication and teamwork skills.
