Join a leading freight forwarder based in Southampton where your coordination skills keep global trade moving.
They are seeking a detail-oriented Import Coordinator to manage international shipments from origin to destination.
Your Day-to-Day:
* Handle end-to-end import operations across sea, air, and road freight
* Liaise with overseas agents, carriers, and customs to ensure timely delivery
* Prepare and process import documentation
* Monitor shipments, update clients, and resolve delays or discrepancies
* Ensure compliance with HMRC and international trade regulations
* Maintain accurate records and update internal systems with shipment milestones
* Collaborate with internal departments to ensure smooth handover to warehousing or final delivery
What You'll Bring:
* Experience in freight forwarding or import logistics (1-3 years ideal)
* Strong knowledge of Imports and customs procedures
* Excellent communication skills and customer service mindset
* Ability to multitask and stay calm under pressure
* Familiarity with freight software (e.g. CargoWise, ASM, or similar)
* Must have experience with CDS
* A proactive, problem-solving attitude with a keen eye for detail
