The WalkIn Service, hosted by the Out of Hours Primary Care (GMED) team, is looking to recruit a Salaried GP to join our dynamic and responsive service.
WalkIn services provide sameday access to urgent primary care without the need for a booked appointment and form part of a major national pilot programme funded by the Scottish Government. This programme is helping to shape future models of urgent and unscheduled care across Scotland.
You may be an experienced GP seeking a new challenge in a fastpaced environment, or a GP looking for an opportunity to develop further and contribute to an innovative service model. Either way, this role offers a unique opportunity to work at the heart of urgent primary care.
Responsibilities
* Provide a full range of general medical services including urgent assessment, diagnosis, treatment and onward referral.
* Work closely with the Clinical Lead, Service Manager and the wider multidisciplinary team to ensure high-quality, safe, person-centred care.
* Play an active role in the continuing development of the service.
* Contribute to cover arrangements for colleague annual/study leave.
Post Details
* 1.3 WTE posts available; full‑time, part‑time, and flexible working arrangements will be considered.
* Bank position invitation available.
* Location: Aberdeen Health Village.
* Requires evening and weekend working; essential flexibility.
* Enhanced pay rates apply for agreed evening and weekend sessions.
* Full registration with a licence to practise with the GMC is required.
* Contract: Fixed term for 12 months. Bank opportunities also available.
* Hours: Up to 40 hours per week (flexible working and part‑time will be considered).
* Salary: £77,160 £115,167 per annum / pro rata (with enhanced pay for evening/weekend work).
Qualifications
* Fully registered with the General Medical Council.
* Experience in urgent primary care or similar fast‑paced environment preferred.
