We have a number of fantastic opportunities for a Caretaker to join our team in Beckfoot School, Wagon Lane, Bingley, Bradford BD16 1EE. This role will be based on site.
Salary: £13.08 per hour.
Standard hours of work: 37.5 hours per week – Monday – Friday.
Amey delivers facilities and estate management services to the Bradford Schools Private Finance Initiative across an estate of 10 schools (7 secondary and 3 Special Educational Needs). Every day our people help create high‑quality learning environments – ensuring they are safe, clean and compliant for teachers to inspire and where students can gain meaningful skills and qualifications. We work in partnership with our clients and end‑users to ensure 24/7 services are delivered to the highest standard with minimum impact or disruption to day‑to‑day operational requirements of the schools.
What you will do:
* Ensure smooth running of the school premises.
* Carry out day‑to‑day DIY/maintenance and minor repairs (e.g., furniture fixtures, wall repairs).
* Ensure heating, lighting, and alarm systems are working properly.
* Check that all doors and windows are locked when the building is not in use.
* Guard the premises against vandalism.
* Arrange chairs and tables for meetings or assemblies and clear them away afterwards.
* Pick litter and general clearing of external areas.

You will be facilitating the smooth running of the premises, providing support for a safe and efficient operation whilst ensuring all customer requirements are met.
What you will bring:
* Knowledge and previous experience in practical DIY skills for minor repairs.
* Good team player.
* Flexible with shift work.
* Good at developing strong working relationships with on‑site client and employees.
* This role will also support both local and business zero‑carbon programmes, working towards zero carbon in a strategic and lean manner as and where appropriate.
* Responsible for ensuring Health & Safety standards are achieved across the contract.
