Overall, Purpose of the Role:
Opportunity for an electrical mechanical qualified candidate to join the Yeovil based systems and photonics division of a respected company that has several offices throughout the UK and has been established for over 20 years.
This is an interesting opportunity for a fresh graduate or someone who has recently completed engineering orientated higher education to join the photonics engineering market. You will get the chance to experience design, estimation, project management and get the opportunity to go to site to see your design in practice.
You will have studied a related discipline like mechanical engineering / electrical engineering / motorsport engineering and have learnt some Computer Aided Design and how to read engineering drawings. Understanding of aerospace or photonics-based production engineering would be highly desirable.
The Quality Engineering team are responsible for providing a consistently conforming product that aims to exceed customer expectations, by compliance against EN9100:2018 (AS9100D) and other legal and customer contractual obligations.
Key Responsibilities:
* Assist in the inspection and testing of products to ensure quality standards are met
* Identify and document product defects or quality issues
* Support the Quality Manager in quality assurance tasks
* Collaborate with production teams to implement quality improvements
* Maintain accurate records of inspections and test results
* Participate in quality audits and compliance activities
* Assist in the development and implementation of quality control procedures
* Support continuous improvement activities
