Role Description
We are seeking an Estimator to join our dynamic team in South Yorkshire. In this role, you will play a crucial part in our project planning and execution by accurately estimating costs and ensuring projects align with our mission of delivering exceptional projects. The Estimator will analyse project requirements, prepare accurate cost estimations, and compile tender submissions for. Responsibilities include communicating with clients, suppliers, and subcontractors, reviewing project specifications and drawings, and providing advice on cost-effective and efficient solutions. The role also involves maintaining detailed records of estimates and project documentation and collaborating with internal teams to support project delivery.
Responsibilities
* Prepare detailed cost estimates for mechanical building service projects from minor works to million pound plus projects
* Analyse project specifications and requirements to determine accurate pricing
* Collaborate with project/contract managers and engineers to ensure alignment on project scope
* Monitor market trends and material costs to provide competitive estimates
* Assist in preparing bid proposals for new projects
* Maintain accurate records of estimates and project costs
* Provide support during the negotiation phase with clients
* Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the estimating process
Qualifications
* YOU MUST HAVE - Proven experience as an Estimator in the Mechanical Building Services/HVAC services industry
* Ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications, and industry standards
* Strong understanding of cost control principles and practices
* Excellent analytical skills with attention to detail, and ability to meet tight deadlines
* Proficiency in estimation software and Microsoft Office Suite
* Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment
* Strong communication skills to liaise with all stakeholders
* Relevant qualifications or certifications are preferred.
* Knowledge of Health & Safety standards and regulatory compliance within the construction and HVAC industry
* Proactive problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently and as part of a team
* Relevant academic or vocational qualifications in HVAC/Plumbing are a plus.
