Bid Manager/Writer
Hybrid, able to work between home and Huddersfield office
The Resourcing Team is recruiting on behalf of one of the UK’s largest privately owned independent security companies that delivers complete turnkey solutions offering a comprehensive range of services specialising in the design, installation, and maintenance of security, fire, IT infrastructure, and Electrical Service solutions.
Job Description
We are looking for a professional and experienced Bid Manager / Writer to work with an in-house bid team and regional sales teams. The role is key to the company’s future development and the continued success of both existing clients and new business projects. The Directors seek to attract a Bid Manager with a broad range of bid writing skills and experience, a strong background in developing and winning SQ’s and Tenders, together with strong communication skills and the ability to work independently. The Bid Manager / Writer will ensure robust, accurate, and innovative bid advice is delivered to Directors and Sales Staff to align with their needs and daily business objectives.
Key Responsibilities
* Managing and contributing to the preparation and submission of Company PQQ’s, SQ’s and Tenders
* Write, re-write, and edit bid responses typically involving contributions from sales, estimators, finance etc.
* Ability to effectively communicate with clients and manage the clarification process
* Ability to negotiate contributions from other ‘specialists’ and sales team members within appropriate deadlines for inclusion within bids
* Ability to work under pressure – regular deadlines must be met to a high standard
* Possess a good technical knowledge of the procurement process and the areas it covers – Contract Management, Social Value, Environmental, Quality Assurance, KPI’s etc.
* Good presentation and attention to detail are essential - articulate the company’s vision and values
* Maintaining and updating a rolling Tender Log for weekly publication
* Keeping Frameworks and or Clients updated on all Company Accreditations, Memberships etc.
* Maintaining a central register of all tenders being submitted, won, and lost for future analyses
* Logging opportunities on the internal central information system - CRM
* Maintenance of Framework spreadsheets for monthly and quarterly Social Value commitments and the application of Levy fees
* Ensuring compliance with company policies and commercial requirements
* Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, various portals applications, Visio
* Attendance at weekly review meetings and bespoke tender meetings as and when required i.e. kick off and solution meetings
The Bid Manager / Writer will be a key member of the business development team. They will work with the Director of Sales, the Head of Bids, Account Managers, Estimator’s and other members of staff to collate information required for bids.
