Maintenance Engineer
Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 13:30 – 22:00
About the Role
We’re looking for a hands‑on Maintenance Engineer to join a fast‑moving, family‑run food production business. You’ll play a key role in keeping modern packing, grain processing, milling, and beverage production equipment running efficiently, ensuring maximum uptime and minimal disruption for internal teams.
Key Responsibilities
* Carry out Planned Preventive Maintenance (PPM) across all equipment.
* Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical faults, including PLC, instrumentation, and HMI/SCADA systems.
* Ensure all site PMs and legal checks are completed on schedule.
* Follow and enforce Health & Safety procedures, maintaining compliance with current legislative standards.
* Manage parts inventory, ordering essential items in advance to avoid delays.
* Suggest and implement improvements to production processes.
* Undertake any other reasonable tasks as required by colleagues.
Skills & Experience
* Mechanical/electrical qualification or equivalent hands‑on experience.
* Experience working on modern food manufacturing equipment.
* Strong fault‑finding skills, particularly with PLCs and instrumentation.
* Knowledge of steam pipework, boilers (BOAS certification), HVAC, and chillers is advantageous.
* Effective communication and problem‑solving skills.
* Adaptable team player able to thrive in a dynamic, family‑run environment.
