Hostel Support Worker- Casual

About the Business:
The Addington Hostel has been providing ongoing 24 hour care and housing support for approximately 130 years. It is part of the range of Transistional housing options that focuses upon the particular housing needs for Men who have had recent involvement with Corrections, Mental health and Addictions services.
About the Role:
The Support Workers, are an essential part of our 24 hour hostel team. There is always Support Workers onsite across the day and night. Due to an internal appointment, we are needing an additional Casual Support worker with a particular ability to help cover Night and Weekend shifts, when other permanent staff are on leave.
What will your responsibilities be:
2. Medications each shift
3. Food services during the day
4. Some daily cleaning
5. Health, safety and security for the site
6. Support to the men
7. Writing day notes
8. Supporting your co-workers
9. Creating an environment that is welcoming and recovery orientated
Our ideal candidate will:
10. Have completed the Level 4 Certificate in Health and Wellbeing (or an approved equivalent). We will also consider someone with the Level 3 Certificate in Health and Wellbeing who is completing the Level 4 Certificate in the next 6 months.
11. Have at least 2 years' of paid experience in an equivelent area of work such as Mental Health, Addictions, Corrections, or Housing
12. Be able to work Casual night shifts (11.45pm-8am) as a priority and weekends
13. Comfortable in working within an all male hostel (majority of staff are female)

This role is Casual employmnet Tnhe starting hourly rate for this role will fall between $28.95 and $29.60 depending upon your qualification level
