Hours: Monday – Friday 8:30am-3:30pm
Contract: Fixed Term until 31 August 2026
Salary: Competitive, based on training and experience- paid weekly through PAYE (no hidden umbrella fees)

Protocol Education are looking for a HLTA to work 1-to-1 with a young boy with ASD at a school is East Bristol.They are a large, thriving academy situated at the heart of the vibrant, multicultural community of Easton. They welcome children and families of all faiths and those with none. The school is committed to working closely with the local community and has strong links with the neighbouring Easton Family Centre and our partner Lighthouse Schools Partnership.
The Role:
This is an exciting opportunity for a Higher Level Teaching Assistant to be part of a friendly, talented team in their Resource Base who are dedicated to improving outcomes for children in a school with a friendly and supportive ethos. You would be part of a team who are committed to supporting pupils and families to achieve their true potential in one of Bristol’s most vibrant and exciting communities.
You will need to be a strong communicator, good team player and interested in innovative approaches to learning and teaching.
The successful candidate will have:
* Understanding of the needs of children with Autism Spectrum Condition
* Experience of a range of ways of communicating with children who are non-verbal or are in the early stages of language development
* Uncompromisingly high expectations of themselves and all children and be able to engage children in fun and interesting ways
* Understanding of the behavioural needs of children with ASC and how to adapt and deliver support to meet individual needs
* Experience of planning and delivering learning activities
* Strong interpersonal skills
* Knowledge of child protection and safeguarding
* A positive ‘can do’ attitude and nurturing nature
* Hold Level 2 qualifications as a minimum.

The Resource Base:
The Resource Base supports 12 pupils ranging from Year 1 to Year 3 who have an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP) for a primary need of Autism or Speech Language and Communication. Their priority is to ensure that pupils receive a broad, balanced and rewarding curriculum that gives them the skills and knowledge to excel in life and in their Education. The curriculum has been made in a way which will draw out and give priority to the most crucial aspects of the Early Years Foundation Stage and the National Curriculum to give our children knowledge and the means to reach their full potential and independence.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
