Overview

Location / Hybrid Working: This role will be based at Sydenham, with Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday as core attendance days. It is expected that there will be a need for you to attend offsite meetings as required by the business. We actively support hybrid working solutions, with the expectation that you will have 2 days working at home.

The Senior CONNECT Operations Manager provides oversight and accountability of CONNECT Operations Support activities, ensuring governance mechanisms are implemented and effective. This role synthesises data from various teams to generate actionable recommendations for the Head of CONNECT Operations, bridging day-to-day operations with future strategy. It offers insight into backend product operations, balancing enhancement and stability within a volatile environment influenced by changing PESTLE factors. Above all, you\'re a trusted advisor to senior leadership. You bring clarity, structure, and insight to complex challenges, and you help shape the future of policing technology through operational excellence.

As Senior CONNECT Operations Manager, you\'re the strategic anchor of the CONNECT programme\'s operations. You\'re responsible for making sure the right information reaches the right people at the right time whether that\'s through sharp, targeted board packs or clear status dashboards that cut through complexity. You lead change across major product releases, working closely with stakeholders to ensure updates are understood, training is aligned, and adoption is smooth. You\'re the one who sees the full picture tracking risks, dependencies, and decisions through the CRAIDD framework, and making sure nothing slips through the cracks. Benefits management is central to your role. You help the team stay focused on what matters ensuring initiatives deliver real value and that strategic priorities are backed by solid evidence. You support business case development, drawing on your knowledge of the HMT 5 Case Model to make sure proposals are robust and benefit led. You\'re also the go-to for assurance. Whether it\'s internal health checks or external reviews, you provide the evidence, insights, and recommendations that keep delivery on track. You maintain oversight of project plans, monitor milestone impacts, and flag risks early. Operationally, you keep things running. From onboarding logistics like vetting and laptop setup, to maintaining governance charts and resource data, you ensure the CONNECT Unit is organised, compliant, and ready to deliver. You liaise with Finance and Recruitment teams, support financial planning, and help shape the structure of the team through job descriptions and resource planning. You\'re a strategic thinker with a strong grasp of change management, benefits tracking, and delivery methodologies whether Agile, Waterfall, or hybrid. You understand the Met\'s strategic direction and how CONNECT fits into it. You know how to guide products through their lifecycle, align OKRs and KPIs, and ensure delivery is both efficient and impactful.

This is not a role where you can sit in the background. It is visible, accountable and central to one of the Met\'s most important technology programmes.
