Behaviour Support Teaching Assistant Location: Tamworth, Staffordshire, B79 Pay Rate: £105 - £115 per day Start Date: ASAP Contract: Full-time, long-term, temp to permLong Term Futures are recruiting for a patient, resilient and proactive Behaviour Support Teaching Assistant to provide dedicated 1:1 support for a pupil with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs within a welcoming and supportive primary school in Tamworth, accessible from Birmingham City Centre, Nuneaton and Lichfield.This role will involve working closely with a pupil with Autism and SEMH needs, supporting their engagement with learning, and positive behaviour development. The school is seeking a calm and consistent individual who can build a strong, trusting relationship and act as a behaviour mentor, assisting the pupil to feel safe and supported throughout the school day. Key Responsibilities
* Providing 1:1 support for a pupil with Autism and SEMH needs
* Acting as a positive behaviour mentor, supporting emotional regulation and wellbeing
* Implementing trauma-informed approaches to behaviour
* Supporting the pupil to access learning and remain engaged during lessons
* Building a safe, consistent and trusting relationship with the pupil
* Encouraging confidence, resilience and positive social interaction
Ideal Candidate Profile
* Experience working with children or young people with SEMH and behavioural needs
* Understanding of trauma-informed practice
* Team Teach training or positive handling training is desirable
* Calm, patient and consistent approach to behaviour support
* Strong relationship-building skills and a positive attitude
* Ability to remain resilient and supportive in challenging situations
